What To Do When Your Friends and Family Do Not Take Your Home Business Serious

If you are working from home, then you know that trading in the metal desk with one filing cabinet for your garage or bedroom is a god-send. No more lengthy commuting, no more of your coworkers not taking the initiative to make the coffee, mindless meetings to attend, and snotty coworkers whose lack of work and incompetence have been the thorn in your side of your corporate existence; furthermore, no longer are you at the calling of your boss who seems to have great ideas and wants to start work 15 minutes before quitting time. Even though you seem happy and make a decent living with your business at home, you find that the reaction of your family and friends is that they do not take your business serious.

"Hi, it's mom, just wanted to chat" or "Hey can I drop Sarah off for a few hours?" or the most dreaded line, "Since you're home, can you......". You know how that goes. They make you feel that they are off earning a living and you are at home, living a life of leisure. There is a lack of respect from friends and family if you can relate to any of these scenarios. Yes, no respect!

For instance, do you communicate your business to your friends and family with a sense of accomplishment and ownership, or do you speak like it's "something to do" between watching reality shows and soaps? People will sense your delivery of speech - you have to own it - you have to be prideful and give them the feeling that you want to share your enterprise. People can read you like a book. If they don't sense your burning desire of what you do and how important it is, how can you expect respect from them? It's all in the delivery. You need to have that firm sense of accomplishment, and if you don't, maybe you need to move on to something else that will give you that ownership.

Are you available during the day to accept phone calls or do you just let the answerming machine fill up? If you do answer the phone and it's a friend or family member asking you to do something for them, do you find it hard to decline? Why is it so impossible to put ourselves first? If you must help them out, stand firm on your decision to return to work after the time you have affirmatively set. If you say, "yes I can but I need to get back to work by 2:00 p.m.", guess what, get back to work by 2:00 p.m. It's that simple. We need to stop feeling guilty about not conceding to our friends and family. You will always be "accessible" by working at home if you do not put your foot down. I'm not saying to be ugly and cause a scene, but I am saying to stand your ground. This is YOUR business that you've worked so hard at. Keep it YOUR business and set ground rules. You'll be so happy that you did. Go ahead, start right now! Your business is only as serious as you display it.

Is Blogging for Profit the Way to Go?

This is an interesting question that many people will ask at internet marketing seminars for the simple reason that people are really interested in this idea. There are various different blogs that are popping up all over the internet nowadays that it really has gotten to a point where people that are interested in starting something from scratch and hopefully building that something up into something worthwhile have really gotten behind the idea of a blog.

A blog is simply a specialized content management system that you can use to make it easier for people to follow your thoughts as they appear in your head and are put down on paper. What blogging has shown us however is that there are a lot of different people that are interested in the idea of being able to not only write on a particular topic, but also engage discussion with other blog owners on the exact same topic. That give and take that you see in the blogosphere on various different topics is quite overwhelming and it is this idea that makes it such a profitable experience.

If you are able to build up a loyal readership to your website, what you are going to eventually see is that the blogging for profit is going to be extremely profitable, because monetizing blogs is very easy to do. If you combine a text link campaign, a square link picture campaign, a pay-per-click campaign and a number of affiliate campaigns, you could easily be looking at an income of about $5,000 per every 100,000 page views that you are able to get. That's an effective CPM of $50, so it is definitely something worth looking into.

Here's another way of looking at it; blogs are the new content sites. When Google initially came out, the best way of doing things was to create content websites in order to make a lot of money from Google AdSense. As time moved on however and the interest in CPC waned, blogs became the natural way of doing things because of how easy they were to monetize from multiple sources of revenue. Blogs are going to be the way of doing business for a long time to come now and if you want to make money writing about something that you love to talk about, then blogging is definitely the best way to do it.

You start by getting a blog set up; either through a free service or by purchasing a domain and subscribing to a hosting service. Then, you can move on to promoting your blog and doing a whole lot more in addition to that and eventually you should see your page views starting to climb up out of the cellar. From that point on, it's smooth sailing. Blogging is not the easiest way to make money, but if you are willing to put in the effort it is arguably the most reliable.

Ways to Improve Your Company Business

Many companies desire to sell as many products as they can while providing great customer service. Customers enjoy being able to make quick decisions while feeling that the company is providing them with individualized attention, helping them locate exactly what products they want without the pressure to buy items that they do not want or need. One of the best ways to provide your clients with the products and efficient services that they desire is to have a variety of the products on hand AT ALL TIMES. A customer usually enters a store with the intention of purchasing a product at that time, provided the store has the item available that the customer desires. If your customer is told that the item is on back order, then they may decide that they are not willing to wait for you to receive the item in stock, leading them to purchase the item at another store, even if the other store has it at a higher cost. Sound familiar? If you value the credibility of your company, it is important to have items in stock and available for delivery very quickly to your clients.

It is important to sell items that are useful in the environment that you live in. Having items that are not in high demand in your area will make it difficult for your company to increase their clientele as well as make a considerable amount of profit. Don’t make this mistake! Selling a product such as hotdogs next to a stadium can help to provide you with a consistent amount of business, instead of an occasional or seasonal clientele base.

If your specialty or passion is for something that is not in high demand in your area, then consider having an online website that can help to sell your products. Giving information in detail can help a potential client decide if your product is a match for them. Being able to purchase the item online and have it delivered to their doorstep within a few short days can help each client to return to your site for other items. Try it! Be sure to advertise your website with a number of search engines or as a link from other sites that are closely related to the types of products that are available through your company. Having an online website can give you a broad range of clients all over the world, not just in your immediate area. Having a shipping company that is reliable and you know what their shipping rates are, can help your client to know the total price even before they purchase the item.

Having a credible company that helps its clients to purchase items for a decent price will allow your company to prosper while helping your clients to feel appreciated and well taken care of.
